Leadwork & Re-pointing

Broken and missing lead flashings let water into the roof, and on a brick chimney can seriously undermine its structural integrity.

Common causes of leaks from lead flashings are from splits (which can naturally occur over time due to expansion and contraction), or from the edges of the flashing coming away from the wall or chimney.

Quite often we can re-sit the existing flashing if it has simply come away, and re-point the area around it. If however, the flashing is damaged or split, we will replace with new, and re-point as required.
